While M&A activity in the insurance industry has risen over the years, this has been led by the US. The Middle East had a blockbuster year in 2020, with 32 deals. This year, only five deals have been announced. Similarly, while the fall was not as pronounced for the Asia-Pacific, there have been fewer deals this year. What does it mean?
