About the programme

The LMA Academy Syndicate Business Plan is an interactive and highly practical course that provides a thorough understanding of the operation of a Lloyd’s underwriting syndicate, based upon the content of the Lloyd’s Business Plan.
Delegates will be divided into four ‘syndicates’ and over the course of the programme will work together on their own Syndicate Business Plan (SBP). The main objective of the programme is to give delegates a basic understanding of the SBP process covering the following:

  • explain the purposes of the SBP
  • define the key components of the SBP and the critical business decisions they require
  • outline the main elements of a business strategy and translate them into a business plan
  • the opportunity to meet experts from the Lloyd’s market in each of the modules
  • testing delegates abilities to work in a team to produce and present an SBP in the Old Library to a panel.

Please note: delegates are required to attend all teaching modules and will be required to complete at least 50 extracurricular hours working with their team to develop their SBP. The full the support of their line manager is critical to allow them the time to do the work.

This event requires membership. Please visit the organiser's website for more information.
