The LMA invites you to join this session exploring the evolving landscape of sexual misconduct risk and its implications for the London market.
Drawing on decades of experience, including representing Lloyd’s and the London market in the coverage and resolution of these matters, the session will examine how cultural, legal and societal shifts have reshaped the nature and severity of claims, and what this means for underwriting, claims and reinsurance professionals.
The session will also introduce the Burnett Index, a proprietary platform containing detailed data from more than 110,000 sexual misconduct claims worldwide. The dataset is primarily drawn from common law jurisdictions, including the United States, Canada, England, Ireland and Australia. It spans a wide range of exposures, including religious and charitable institutions, educational settings, higher education, medical abuse, youth-serving organisations, sports bodies, government and foster care systems.
The Burnett Index provides new ways to value, quantify and contextualise these complex exposures, offering members unique insight into the development of claims and settlements across multiple jurisdictions.
Attendees will hear directly from experts who have developed a comprehensive database and index of settlements.
