Specie Market Education Forum 2026

The Joint Specie Committee (JSC) will host an in-person education forum on Wednesday 11 November at 09.30 in the Old Library at Lloyd’s.

The forum will include a committee update from the chair, Tom Shearman (Senior Class Underwriter, Chaucer), followed by an update from other JSC members:

• Madeleine Bradnam (Head of Specie, AdA Insurance) on the new cross-market Fee Payment Enablement Scheme, designed to improve the speed and efficiency of payments to third-party surveyors and experts across the London market for pre-risk services.
• James Croome (Active Underwriter – Syndicate 2012, Arch Insurance) will clarify the scope of digital assets risk codes GY and GZ for policies incepting from 01 January 2027.

The forum will then include two presentations from:

• Chris Moore (CUO, IBOTT 1971, Apollo Group)
  AI is increasingly reshaping the risk landscape for insurers and their clients. In this session, Chris will provide a high-level overview of how AI is being adopted across industries, the implications for insurance products and underwriting, and some of the emerging market discussions around coverage, risk assessment and the future workforce.
• Andrew Grant (JSC Legal Representative and Partner, Clyde & Co)
  This session will provide a legal perspective on the evolving use of AI and its implications for the specie and fine art insurance market.
