Nick Kilhams Memorial Lecture 2026

The LMA and the Nick Kilhams Foundation (NKF) would like to invite you to the fifth annual Nick Kilhams Memorial Lecture.

The event will include:

  • update from charity partner
  • keynote lecture: Seeking opportunity and mitigating risk in the new world order – Robert Besseling, Founder and Chief Executive, PANGEA-RISK

About Robert Besseling
Robert is the founder and Chief Executive of PANGEA-RISK. He leads a global team of analysts and consultants delivering forward-looking country risk forecasts across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East through the Insight intelligence platform and bespoke advisory work. Robert also oversees strategic projects for clients across the insurance, banking, development finance, mining and energy sectors.

He established PANGEA-RISK in 2015 after a career in political risk forecasting with leading UK and US firms. A recognised industry voice, Robert speaks regularly at major conferences on mining, trade finance and global security, and contributes frequently to international media. He also sits on several industry advisory boards.

About NKF
Tragically, Nick Kilhams died from suicide early one Saturday morning in May 2021. NKF’s mission is to keep Nick’s memory and legacy alive in the marketplace that he loved so dearly. NKF fears others in the industry may be struggling to deal with their inner thoughts and mental health challenges.

They hope that by bringing Nick’s story to the fore, others will be brave enough to share and talk openly if they need help. NKF aims to raise money to fund mental health resources, to aid anyone in our market that needs help.

Speakers

Audience

This lecture is open to political risk and credit market practitioners, including those with an interest in the work of the NKF, advancing education and raising awareness of mental health issues.
