The current challenging global conditions where social distancing and international travel is restricting our normal daily lives have led us – in agreement with the Stockholm organisers – to re-format this year’s annual IUMI conference.
Taking advantage of technology, the organisers are moving the Stockholm conference online and widening its reach. In doing so, they hope to embrace a broader cross-section of marine insurance participants than ever before and, in particular, we hope that younger underwriters will also choose to attend.
The conference is well known for its comprehensive and high-quality agenda and our Technical Committees remain committed to developing relevant and topical workshops and securing expert speakers. We will soon be announcing the details of this year’s conference programme. COVID-19 and its consequences for our business will be on the agenda as well as discussions on the impact of sustainability and digitalization on marine insurance. Many other topical issues will complement this core debate. The common theme this year is “Navigating changing climates – delivering expertise to shape the future”.
To ensure all participants are able to attend all workshops – and to avoid extended time away from the “office” – this year’s conference will be spread over a two-week period: Mon, 14 – Fri, 25 September.
