Join Lloyd’s for their next webinar ‘Moving beyond the spreadsheet: structured to unstructured data’ – the fourth part of our Autumn Masterclass Series, featuring content adapted from our AI for Business course.
Structure is an important feature for data processing. The more structure there is in the data, the easier it is for computers to handle it. However, life is not always so well organised.
Much of the data we come across today comes in not-so-structured ways (think of social media posts, for example), and is difficult to be processed in spreadsheets and conventional relational databases. To address this, there are formats that can handle semi-structured data and transform it into relational data, such as XML and JSON.
In this lecture – Dr Manuel León Urrutia, Senior Teaching Fellow at the University of Southampton and Scholarly Communications Director at Editorial Octaedro – will discuss these formats and the (not-only-structured) databases with which we can manage semi-structured data.
This masterclass is presented to you in collaboration with Lloyd’s and the Southampton Data Science Academy.
