Webinar: The new architecture of insurance – Forces reshaping risk, capital and distribution 2026
The traditional insurance value chain was once defined by rigid, sequential roles that ran a straight line: from insured to retail broker to wholesale broker/MGA (for specialty or E&S) to carrier to reinsurance broker to reinsurer.
Instead of a fixed chain from insured to reinsurer, roles are now plug-and-play: MGAs, fronts, carriers, brokers, reinsurers, capital providers and API-driven vendors can be mixed, matched and swapped to build programmes in different ways. As fronting carriers and MGAs proliferate, collateralised reinsurance builds momentum, data becomes democratised and InsurTech infrastructure expands the boundaries between underwriting, distribution and capital.
The winners in this new environment may not be those who control the full stack, but those who master the art of orchestration: assembling and reassembling modular capabilities for speed, access and innovation.

Discussion questions
- How have the links between insured to reinsurer shifted? How is the new modular model reshaping the competitive balance between carriers, MGAs and capital providers?
- How are fronting carriers and collateralised reinsurance changing access to underwriting risk for non-traditional players?
- What partnerships or capital structures are emerging as a result of this convergence?
- Are there systemic risks in this unbundled model (e.g., counterparty, operational, regulatory)?
- In a world where technology and data are plug-and-play, what becomes the new differentiator?
- If success now depends on orchestration, what new leadership or organisational competencies are required?
