In this Insurance Institute of London (IIL) claims webinar, David Summers will talk about the nature of insured art, why it is insured, who insures it, and in particular why it is of such interest to organised crime, illustrated by some real life examples.
This seminar will attempt to give an overview of the international art market, looking at the buyers and sellers, and how trades are made. The speaker will also look at the reasons why the art market may be an attractive one for organised crime, giving some specific examples in recent history of art theft and how its connection to organised crime.
The seminar will include responses to art crime by law enforcement agencies, the art market itself, and by the insurance market. You will know more about how art claims are handled, including the range of art experts who get involved and the loss adjuster’s role in in that process.
