This webinar is the third in a series of joint catastrophe modelling webinars between the Insurance Institute of London (IIL) and AIR Worldwide (a Verisk business), aimed at improving members understanding of developments in extreme event modelling and risk evaluation in today’s insurance world.
In this webinar, Bethany Vohlers will introduce the foundations of cyber risk and cyber catastrophe modelling, including the challenges unique to cyber and the modelling frameworks that capture its complexity.
Cyber risk is defined by an ever-evolving, diverse spectrum of risks that have emerged in response to shifts in the technology landscape. Catastrophe models capturing the risk must therefore address complex challenges unique to cyber. This session introduces these challenges and their role in shaping cyber catastrophe models, exploring how modelling frameworks have been designed to capture the complexity of the risk.
By the end of this webinar members would have gained an insight into:
• What is cyber risk? How has it evolved through time?
• How can catastrophe models address the unique challenges introduced by cyber?
• Identifying three key modelling frameworks for capturing exposure to complex cyber risks
