
In this IIL educational visit, attendees can take look a behind the scenes at a prestigious landmark in London – the Royal Opera House (ROH), accessing spaces normally off-limits to the public.
The Royal Opera House is an iconic landmark in London and home to the Royal Opera Company and Royal Ballet Company.
On this behind-the-scenes guided tour, attendees will hear about the history of the gilded Victorian theatre, enjoy stories of some of the most famous stars that have graced the stage and how the theatre-going experience has transformed over the centuries. This tour also includes access to some spaces that are not normally available to the public such as stage models gallery, ballet studio, and production workshops.
At the end of the tour, the ROH Director of Finance will give an overview of the insurance aspects and how it works in a venue like ROH.
Attendees will be required to make their own travel arrangements to/from the Royal Opera House – the nearest tube station is Covent Garden (Piccadilly Line).
Please note that the Royal Opera House is a fully working theatre, each tour is a unique experience and varies according to what is available on the day. The tour is 90 minutes in length and includes lifts, stairs and escalators. If you require a step-free route, please let us know.
