Lime Street Ward Club invites its members on a private tour of our Supreme Court, Parliament Square, London SW1P 3B starting at 6.00pm. This is also the seat of the Privy Council. It is best to get there by 5.30pm at the latest, to allow time for security checks and a visit to their excellent exhibition. Our group will not be allowed to remain in the building after the tour.
The tour lasts about an hour and you will be shown the courtrooms as well as the magnificent Justices’ Library, which is not normally open to the public. The tour will be led by a very experienced guide who will give us an introduction to the Court’s role in the UK justice system, explain about the history and artwork of the building, give examples of cases heard by the Court and answer any questions you may have. This is a fascinating visit but we are restricted on numbers so it is very much first come first served.
The visit will be followed by a one course supper and a glass of wine at the Two Chairman Public House, 39 Dartmouth Street, St James SW1H 9BP – a 10 minute walk from the Court. There will also be a cash bar so additional drinks, pudding, coffees etc. would be on your own account.
