In May 2018 the JRC reissued the Well Review Guideline (JR2018-012). This update aimed to align the guidelines with recently updated JRC technical documents, providing for a wider risk-based assessment choice, as well as, ensuring a broad technical update.
There will be a short presentation from the engineers responsible for the update followed by a wider general interest presentation by NRG Well Examination Ltd on the well design execution process, together with the role of third party well examination.
The well design execution process will consider the key stages of the process as well as the inputs, activities and outputs at each stage, making a case for early involvement of brokers, insurers and the well review process. The well examination process, a legal requirement for wells on the UKCS for over 20 years, will be considered for its benefits and limitations. Further, the use of independent well examination will be discussed from a global perspective.
