In this IIL educational visit, attendees take a look behind the scenes at a large, 700-bedroom, busy central Thistle Hotel, Marble Arch to understand the key challenges and risks that must be managed and the insurance implications.
This educational visit includes presentations on various areas of hotel operations, including the types of guests, security, maintenance and repair, as well as back-of-house operational areas to understand the risks involved and where insurance reacts.
Thistle Marble Arch is part of Clermont Hotel Group, who operate 17 hotels in Central London and surrounding areas, with 5000 plus bedrooms, and 120+ meeting and events spaces, across three brands. They not only operate the hotels, they own and develop the brands that those hotels operate under.
Many of the hotels are in major tourist areas of London, and they operate from a mix of leasehold and freehold buildings, some listed, some purpose-built hotels, and some converted buildings. From the quintessentially British to lifestyle hotels based around music and fun, the portfolio brings different experiences for guests and different risks and challenges for management.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided (please advise of any dietary requirements when booking).
Attendees will be required to make their own travel arrangements to/from Hotel Thistle Marble Arch – the nearest tube station is Marble Arch – Central Line.
A fee will be charged for all visits. Visit fees are non-refunded if cancelled.
