As we wait patiently for the opportunity to meet up together in the coming months, The Master, Ivor Cook, for his second event, is pleased to be able to offer a virtual tour of the Royal Exchange(s) and its environs.
The Royal Exchange is one of London’s grandest and most iconic buildings, at the heart of the City. It has seen many different uses throughout its extraordinary history, since its opening in 1671.
Today, after sympathetic re-modelling in 2001, the Grade 1 listed building accommodates an exclusive retail centre with restaurants, cafes over 30 stores selling luxurious brands.
Without moving from your chair, with glass or mug in hand, our own Peter Cave, Past Master of Lime Street Ward Club, will be providing a Virtual ‘Walk and Talk’ around the main body of the Royal Exchange (today fully within Cornhill Ward) and its environs, with highlights being pointed out as we go along.
We will meet a range of people on our journey including some very famous people both real and imaginary and learn plenty about a building that most of us, just walk past.
So book yourself a place, friends and family can join, relax as we “walk” in and around the Royal Exchanges and some of the surrounding streets.
