The Lloyd’s bloodstock community would like to invite you to attend the annual Nick Mills’ Memorial Lecture.
Dr Jonathan Pycock will give both an update and an insight into his role as an equine claims consultant for the Veterinary Defence Society. Particular emphasis will be on claims against veterinary surgeons involving the bloodstock industry.
Attendees will gain an understanding of the legal challenges equine vets face and how they are dealt with by the VDS. The motto of the VDS, decided back in 1865, was ‘Defence, Not Defiance’. After this lecture you should be able to decide if that is still applicable!
Nick Mills (M.A.(Cantab),Vet.M.B., M.R.C.V.S.) was a longstanding friend to the insurance market, particularly underwriters and brokers in Lloyd’s, and his help and assistance was greatly appreciated. We look forward to you joining us on Wednesday 12 January in his memory.
The Veterinary Defence Society (VDS) is a mutual insurance company, founded in 1865, where the claims consultants are all experienced veterinary surgeons. Over 95% of all UK and ROI veterinary surgeons insure with the VDS.
Anyone with an interest in Bloodstock.
**We plan to hold this event ‘in person’ only (i.e. no online participation) in the Old Library at Lloyd’s, but it may be necessary to switch to a virtual event. If so, we will advise all registered attendees nearer the time.**
