We would like to invite you to our LMA Exposure Management Working Group (EMWG) joint event with the International Society of Catastrophe Managers (ISCM) where senior industry technical speakers will discuss the impact of climate change on the frequency and severity of extreme weather events, and how this may affect the accuracy of natural catastrophe models used in the insurance industry.

David Singh, Exposure Management Delivery Manager, MS Amlin will provide some background on the importance of climate risk and regulation, Alan Godfrey, Head of Group Casualty & Cyber Exposure Management, AXIS Capital will provide some updates on forthcoming education events and Alex Hindson, Chief Risk & Sustainability Officer, Argo will talk about the work of the LMA ESG group.

Attendees will gain educational and informative views on the impact and severity of climate risk and extreme events on the insurance industry including:

• how weather and catastrophe models can account for changing climate conditions
• how catastrophe modelling companies are currently thinking about climate change in their models
• how models can support the PRA’s CBES exercise.
