The first Joint Cargo Committee (JCC) Forum in 2018 will take place in Lloyd’s Old Library at 10.00 on Wednesday 14 February.

The Forum will include a brief report on current JCC activity, followed by an IHS Markit briefing on the cargo risks outlook for 2018.

An IHS Markit Country Risk team will give a presentation highlighting:

-the global piracy outlook
-cargo risk ‘hotspots’ in Nigeria, Cameroon and Ethiopia
-cargo theft in Brazil and Mexico
-impact on cargo risks of North Korea’s nuclear/missile programmes, China’s maritime aspirations and the Naxalite movement in India
-impact of new trends in refugee flows on Europe and the cargo implications of the conflict in east Ukraine
-impact on cargo of war and terrorism risks in the Levant, the Red Sea, Yemen and Libya.

The team will be prepared to take questions on the topics covered and other cargo issues.
