
The first LMA Joint Cargo Committee (JCC) Forum in 2020 will take place in Lloyd’s Old Library at 10.00 on Wednesday 12 February.
The Forum will include a short report on current JCC activity, followed by an IHS Markit briefing on the cargo risks outlook for 2020.
The IHS Markit Country Risk team will highlight:
• Sub-Saharan Africa: latest developments around piracy in the Gulf of Guinea
• Latin America: impact of the wave of protests across Latin America on cargo risk
• Asia: update on the South China Sea, and the Indonesia-China territorial waters dispute
• Middle East: prospects for war in the Persian/Arabian Gulf and associated cargo risks
• Eastern Mediterranean: coming Turkish escalation and its impact on marine risks in Libya, Tunisia and Cyprus.
The team will be prepared to take questions on the topics covered and other cargo risks.
