This in-person market briefing organised by the IUA Junior Aviation Practitioners Group welcomes guest speakers who will discuss current matters relevant to the insurance sector.
The aviation industry has experienced many challenges in recent years, including monitoring rapidly evolving technology, environmental issues, revisions to legal governance and the rising cost of fuel; this is in addition to a global pandemic and lockdown causing planes to be grounded.
However, aviation is a resilient business and, today, our guest speakers will highlight its strength and recovery.
John Bayley will discuss current inflation concerns and the underlying increase in costs in addition to current rising prices. The new generation of working practices and the new material costs that will shape insurance claims handling in the future will be discussed.
John will also consider the operation of aircraft in Russia, noting that without international support huge challenges have been posed for operators and the aircraft condition, both current and possible future situations will be reviewed.
Neil Smith will outline the role of the IUAI in supporting the international aviation community and mention the annual IUAI Conference.
