
In this IIL marine & energy lecture Paul Harcombe will talk about the expansion of the Panama Canal and some of the issues relating to the expansion and how the new expanding canal is impacting global trade routes.
The Panama Canal has long been a vital part of world shipping trade and has tried to address the ever changing needs of the global shipping industry. From its early days to the completion of the new locks the Canal has provided essential services to the shipping industry. This lecture will give you a feel for the Canal -its operations and effect on world shipping.

Paul has spent over 35 years in the marine market getting involved in all aspect of marine insurance. He has had responsibility for the Panama Canal’s insurance program since September 2009.
