Welcome to the fourth annual Cyber Rankings Awards! This year, the Insurance Insider is going online to celebrate the London market’s best cyber insurance professionals and to recognise this industry’s most highly regarded underwriters, brokers and rising stars as well as the essential service providers that enable underwriters and brokers to do what they do best.

If you are not familiar with the Rankings awards, they are unlike traditional awards ceremonies where a panel of judges pick who they believe to be the winner of a category. This awards are derived from aggregated data gathered through the 2020 Cyber Rankings Survey. Over July and August, the Insurance Insider Insights team polled underwriters and brokers in London’s cyber market to find out who the market thinks the leading professionals and companies are. The results are in and you can see who has made the shortlist below.

The organisers set minimum levels of participation to achieve a maximum error margin of 10 percent of overall scores at a 95 percent confidence level to make sure the results are statistically significant. This basically means the survey sample size is sufficiently large to ensure the ranking scores remain unchallenged if the survey were to be run repeatedly).

The shortlists of each individual award are made up of the top five highest-ranked individuals from each company in their respective field. This makes the competition more exciting as there are no two individuals from the same company in a shortlist. The company awards shortlists are made up of the top five firms that received the highest score for that category. The winner of each category is simply the individual or company with the highest score made up from their supporters’ votes.
