The LMA Academy has partnered with MDA Training to host a series of 60-90-minute, interactive, virtual learning soundbites. The soundbites aim to develop work-based commercial skills across a range of insurance topics.

Audience

The five soundbites are aimed at Underwriters seeking to refresh their skills, or those beginning a career in insurance and looking to build their commercial and technical abilities for the first time. Each workshop will cover broad commercial ideas in an easily digestible way, rather than explore a specific topic in huge depth. The workshops follow a developmental pathway, and delegates are expected to attend each session.

About the programme

Understanding the metrics and ratios of Insurance organisations, what they mean and how they are used to measure performance, are fundamental commercial skills for Underwriters to grasp as they build their careers.

The program consists of five linked and interactive virtual modules. Each module lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and will cover the following topics:

• fundamental maths for insurance
• accounting for insurance
• analysing insurance performance
• modelling insurance performance
• understanding the performance of an insurance product.
