The LMA Academy, working with Lloyd’s, has taken over the delivery of the Claims Practitioner Programme which supports the development of high potential claims professionals in the Lloyd’s market.
The programme is being delivered at an intermediate level and has been enhanced to meet claims professionals requirements and future needs, ensuring that attendees have both the opportunity and appropriate level of support to develop in a challenging and changing claims and market environment.
The role of the claims professional has historically been focused on technical expertise, either relating to the claims sector or the class of business. The claims professionals role and the claims operating model is changing. Claims service and expertise is a key differentiator – it is a part of the (re)insurers value proposition. This requires a different mind and skill set to ensure that the London and Lloyd’s market maintains its reputation and specialist skills to service our global client base and compete with our peers.
The programme, over 14 modules, has the clear objective of supporting and overcoming the challenges and issues facing claims professionals in the Lloyd’s market, bridging the gap between technical claims handling and the more strategic areas of a claims role. Each module will have pre and post module work which allows the delegates to relate programme content back into their own organisation and class of business.
The modules will be delivered by expert claims professionals from the market with a wide range of experience and knowledge across the claims function.
