David Ericksen Esq., from the San Francisco law firm Severson and Werson will lead this discussion on technology and the evolving standard of care. 2021 has dramatically expanded the necessary use of technology in design practice and communication. The industry has been through multiple iterations of the “next normal”. Internal and external practices, exposures and the standard of care have all been impacted.

This session will examine the impacts of those ongoing evolutions, the impact on the standard of care and develop core strategies and tools to manage. We will also discuss confidentiality and the risk firms may face when it comes to entering into certain NDA agreements. Social media, texts, emails and video chats create additional risks firms must be wary of and educate their staff on best practices for leveraging this technology.
