The LMA’s Joint Power Generation Committee invites you to attend the Weather Related Risks, Challenges and Opportunities for Renewable Energy Sources event taking place on Wednesday 29 March 2023 in the Lloyd’s Old Library.
Description
Our speakers will explore the paradox between the dynamic growth of renewable energy as a solution to fight climate change and the increasing risks to these renewable energy sources are experiencing as a consequence of climate change being experienced.
As such, they will address:
- emerging weather trends and their impact on utility scale solar and wind projects from both an operational and construction perspective
- claim challenges in both wind and solar that have been experienced in the US over the past two years
- challenges in the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act for renewable energy risks
- opportunities to address these risks, through emerging technology solutions, risk mitigation techniques and underwriting practices.
