War, Terrorism and Clarity in Insurance and Reinsurance 2026
Audience
This event is open to underwriters and brokers with an interest in war and terrorism insurance.
Description
In collaboration with Antares, the LMA invites you to a session at London Risk Week covering war and terrorism insurance.
The session will explore why contract terms such as undeclared war, civil war, terrorism, insurrection and hostilities are increasingly hard to classify – and what that means for underwriting, claims and reinsurance recoveries in a world of cyber, hybrid conflict, proxy actors and increasing tension.

- Surface the main sources of ambiguity across direct insurance and reinsurance.
- Compare how historic events have been classified (and disputed) in practice.
