Background

In Q4 2020 a joint review of the Single Claims Agreement Party (SCAP) was undertaken by the market trade Associations, Lloyd’s and DXC to determine usage and effectiveness and which revealed:

  • faster response and settlement times
  • improved customer experience due to a reduced number of queries from insurers
  • no errors in fundamental claims adjusting being made by slip leaders
  • a single claims agreement party reduces expense for brokers and carriers
  • better service for the clients overall.

So if the review was so glaring then why are we looking to undertake a claims refresher? 

There continue to be organisations that have not adopted SCAP for several reasons but one of the reasons, that training can rectify, is the fact that these organisations did not know how SCAP operated or how to adopt SCAP. There also continue to be common errors in the market that cause frustration and delays and that can be easily resolved. Sometimes we all just need a refresher!

The SCAP session will cover

  • the application of SCAP
  • determining if a claim is in scope for SCAP with useful practical examples
  • common errors and how to address and avoid them
  • SCAP Operational Guidance.
