At this market briefing, we welcome the former English cricketer who captained Essex and England, Graham Gooch, OBE. Mr Gooch will chat about the dedication and motivation to his career, becoming one of the most successful international batsmen of his generation and why he now coaches players of the future.

In marking International Men’s Day, which originated in Trinidad and Tobago back in 1992 to raise awareness of achievements and contributions to community and family and issues facing men globally, our event welcomes a man whose determination to succeed has resulted in phenomenal achievements.

The IUA HR & Training Committee are delighted to welcome their guest speaker Graham Gooch, OBE, who was the most prolific run scorer top-class cricket has ever seen. After he retired in 1997, the statistician Robert Brooke calculated that he had scored 21,087 in one-day cricket at first-class level, which added to his 44,841 first-class runs.

Graham Gooch has acquired vast experience dealing with high-level performers as a captain and as a coach and was awarded the OBE for his services to cricket in 1991.
