At this IUA Market Briefing, our guest speakers will provide insight into the Advanced Air Mobility industry, addressing technical, financial, operational, and regulatory developments. We will hear how the CAA are preparing the UK for the safe adoption of eVTOL aircraft.
EVTOLs look set to be a fundamental feature of the future of flight. These aircraft, also known as electric or hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles, promise to transform how we move within and between cities. Hundreds of companies worldwide are actively developing air taxi projects, reflecting rapid industry growth. They can: offer unprecedented convenience with flights bypassing traffic; improve accessibility to remote areas; advance cargo transportation; and reduce emissions.
Alistair Blundy will discuss the Advanced Air Mobility industry, considering its progress on the journey from build to testing and eventually roll-out. He will consider battery issues, hydrogen capabilities and motors. Delegates will also learn about the key manufacturers, customers, investors and stakeholders influencing current and future plans.
Importantly, attendees will gain an understanding of the measures needed to ensure the success of Advanced Air Mobility. One of the key ingredients will inevitably be regulation, overseen by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Department for Transport, and supported by the Law Commission of England and Wales. Jam Hartley will provide the CAA’s view on developments and discuss the regulatory landscape.
