This IIL educational visit to M&G Real Estate’s flagship asset ’40 Leadenhall’ offers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the City’s largest construction projects in recent years.
This visit includes a briefing by Lee Stentiford who has been involved in the development from the start. Lee will give an overview of the project and the considerations that need to be taken, before a tour of the building by the Contractor (Mace). Attendees will be joined by the Building and Operations Manager for the site who will explain their role and how they fit in while also seeing areas of the building that are still undergoing construction and the impact that some of these internal works have on insurance such as the sprinkler system and how the building needs to conform to meet the LPC Standards.
Chris Leese, M&G’s Director of Insurance and Nick Bastian, M&G’s Insurance Broker, will talk through the information that needs to be provided and taken into consideration from an insurance perspective for the current works project, tenant fit-out project and once PC has been achieved the Buildings insurance placement.
Attendees will learn about hot topics in the insurance industry such as water management plans on construction sites, piercing of floors and the effect that this has on insurer capacity and other areas of good risk management practice.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a visit to a live construction site and might involve climbing several flights of stairs and therefore may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Appropriate clothing and footwear will be required. PPE will be provided.
