SUMMARY:Webinar: Serious injuries and fatalities 2026 - Identification\, mitigation and major incident response
DESCRIPTION:Webinar: Serious injuries and fatalities 2026 – Identification\, mitigation and major incident response\n\n\n\n\nIn this IIL casualty webinar\, John Potter describes the main Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) hazards present in UK workplaces\, along with strategies for mitigating risk and responding effectively to major incidents.   \nDuring 2025/2026\, 126 workers were killed in work-related accidents. Many more people were killed through work-related driving\, and a greater number still will have died because of diseases relating to their employment. \nThis webinar discusses whether organisations invest enough in controlling the causes of Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIFs)\, or if there is disproportionate emphasis on lower risk hazards which tend to drive their loss experience. Some of the main causes of SIFs will be described\, along with the management strategies that organisations might adopt to mitigate them. Should a major incident occur\, the response taken by an organisation will influence the reputational and financial harm caused. The need to be prepared for such incidents is therefore vital. \nLearning objectives\n\nImproved awareness of the hazards which tend to cause SIFs\nUnderstanding some of the strategies that organisations might put in place to reduce the likelihood of SIFs occurring\nRecognising the importance of crisis management and post incident response planning in mitigating the impact of a SIF incident\n\nChair: Ella Surridge\, Casualty Retail Broker\, Lockton \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou will be sent a confirmation email shortly after booking.
