DESCRIPTION:In this Insurance Institute of London (IIL) property webinar\, Gillian Sinclair will talk about the Energy from Waste (EFW) market and the associated risks in construction and operations. \nDescription\nThe presentation will set out the purpose of an Energy from Waste facility and give an overview of the EFW sector in the UK\, including how the process works. \nIt will explain that the facility should be viewed as a power station and will provide an overview of the business model and revenue streams – contracted/uncontracted waste and electricity generation. \nIn this webinar\, the speaker will also discuss the plant development cycle\, planning and site selection (avoiding flood exposed locations)\, highlighting property risk factors – good power station design\, technology selection\, commissioning\, maintenance planning\, operator training\, relationships with original equipment manufacturers and fire protection design considering waste streams. \nSpeaker\nGillian Sinclair\, Head of Development\, Energy Division\, FCC Environment \nBy the end of this webinar members would have gained an insight into:\n\nEnergy from waste plants as power stations\nThe difficulties in delivering new plants vs the need for infrastructure\nAn understanding of risk reduction through the construction and operational phases\n\nDue to the interactivity of the event\, places are limited (250 places) and will be allocated on a first come\, first served basis. \nThis webinar will be hosted on MS Teams.
