DESCRIPTION:Lime Street Ward Club invites its members to visit Two Temple Place. This small house was built in 1895 as a private residence for one of the world’s wealthiest men\, William Waldorf Astor who is renowned for New York Grand Hotels and apartment blocks and in the UK the enhancement of Cliveden.   \nIt was originally built as the headquarters for the Astor Estate and a private retreat for Astor himself.   Sir John Betjeman said “it is a little masterpiece”. This building is not generally open to the public but Lime Street Ward Club has organised a personal guided tour of the building which will be hosting an exhibition of works by John Ruskin.
