SUMMARY:Occupational stress claims in the modern workplace
DESCRIPTION:In this IIL accident lecture Jason Bleasdale present will present on ‘Workplace Stress’. The lecture will have a particular emphasis on recent developments\, focus on mental health and also the impact of the modern workplace. \nThe definition of terms such as harassment and appropriate case law\, including damages and how compensation is awarded. Distinctions between stress and psychiatric injury. Discussion on stress at work claims being something of an employment/personal injury hybrid. Establishing the forum through which claims can be pursued in Employment Tribunal or the High Court. What should employers be aware of when dealing with a case of occupational stress\, and/or harassment and bullying? There are regulations and management standards which are helpful to employers\, provided they are complied with.
