SUMMARY:London's Air Ambulance - challenges of operations
DESCRIPTION:In this IIL aviation lecture Charles Newitt will talk about the role and function of London’s Air Ambulance (LAA) as one of the emergency services supporting London on a daily basis and during major incidents. He will also talk about some of the challenges in managing risk and safety of operating a helicopter in central London and the training involved. \nFew understand the role of LAA or that it is a Charity. By explaining the role of their trauma teams\, members will understand not only what they do\, but the challenges in getting to the side of a patient in the quickest possible time safely. As London develops\, getting a helicopter to the scene is becoming increasingly difficult\, what are the risks\, how do they manage them and how do they train for it.
