LMA General Liability Australian Educational Trip 2025

The LMA General Liability Claims Group, in conjunction with Wotton + Kearney Australia, are delighted to launch the LMA General Liability Claims Educational Programme for Singapore and Australia.

Australia is Lloyd’s fourth largest market, and home to a variety of complex general liability claims. The LMA General Liability Claims Group is committed to supporting the London market continue to develop its claims talent through technical and situational knowledge building, helping ensure that claims practitioners are well equipped and aware of the intricacies of handling claims in these regions. This educational pilot programme offers a unique opportunity to develop the rising talent currently within your teams.

The programme will build on and introduce new knowledge and contextual application of this and introduce key stakeholders from the local market helping to build relationships and develop awareness of local regulation.

Attendees will gain an enriching experience throughout the programme, including opportunities to:

1. Expand on technical knowledge in two key Lloyd’s regions.
2. Improve understanding of Australian litigation; gain valuable first-hand experience of court proceedings, the litigation process and the parties involved.
3. Develop an appreciation of complex claims management in a region known to have a challenging claims and legal environment.
4. Strengthen existing and build new professional relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
5. Improve awareness of clients’ needs and expectations and the role of key local stakeholders including, Lloyd’s Australia and claims handling partners.

Delegates will spend 08 and 09 May in Singapore, before flying to Sydney, Australia, for six days and departing on 16 May.

Registration

Places on the trip are limited, in the event it is oversubscribed the selection will be fair and transparent. Only one applicant per managing agent will be considered.

Applicants must have/provide:

Written support from their Managing Agent’s Claims Director/Head of Claims, and:

• Hold a valid passport and secure all appropriate rights to travel including visas where needed for entering Singapore and Australia
• Curriculum Vitae
• Answer the following questions in no more than 250 words per question:
  • Why should you be the delegate chosen from your Managing Agent?
  • What learnings do you hope to gain from the programme and how will you apply these?

The costs

Managing agents will be asked to fund:

• Return flights to Singapore and Sydney, Australia, and transport to and from airports
• Accommodation costs (Bookings will be coordinated by Wotton + Kearney Australia)
• Meals (where these are not sponsored) and miscellaneous items.

Wotton + Kearney have generously agreed to sponsor a number of networking meals and entertainment during the trip.
