SUMMARY:Lloyd's Motor Club - Goodwood Track Day
DESCRIPTION:Lloyd’s Motor Club holds a track day every year at the famous Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit. \nCost for the day is £375 per entrant and for the first time the price includes lunch. \nEach day is selected in conjunction with Goodwood’s management to be one of the limited number of “noisy days”\, that is to say those allowing noise levels of 105 “exhaust-pipe” decibels (as opposed to the more normal 98 decibel “quiet days”). \nWe limit the day to only 30 entrants to ensure that everybody gets the maximum possible track time. \nCars run in sessions of just over 15 minutes each (about 6 laps) which enables a minimum of 3 to 4 sessions an hour from 9am to 5pm\, with an hour closed for lunch. \nThe event is fully staffed by Goodwood’s outstanding marshals\, and its safety and medical staff. An opening briefing is conducted by one of the circuit’s instructors (who is always willing to give further guidance to individual drivers during the course of the day\, including “on-circuit” tuition). The briefing takes place before the start of the day (generally at 08.30) and must be attended by all drivers before they can access the pit-lane and circuit.  Both drivers and passengers must also complete the brief indemnity forms required by both Goodwood and the LMC for insurance purposes\, before receiving their “access” wrist bands. \nThese days are hugely enjoyed by LMC members\, many of whom come back again and again\, and there is considerable competition for places on the entrant’s list\, particularly for the spring event.
