
Commemorating March’s International Women’s Day, we welcome Cheryl Baker, where she will share highlights of her career from winning Eurovision in 1981 with Bucks Fizz, presenting a variety of prime time TV shows and treading the boards of in a range of productions from “Dial M for Murder” and “Menopause – The Musical”.
Since 1911, International Women’s Day has been commemorated annually celebrating historical, cultural and political achievements of women all over the world and, at this market briefing, we look forward to hearing from Cheryl on her career highlights, challenges, work/life balance and memorable events.

Our guest speaker, Cheryl Baker, has career spanning over 40 years and has sung at two Eurovision’s, the first in 1978 (sadly, coming 11th) but huge success, winning in 1981 with Bucks Fizz. Global success followed and the group sold over 15million records internationally.
In 1984, Cheryl became a familiar face on TV presenting a variety of programmes including the legendary Record Breakers, which she presented for 11 years. In 2018 Cheryl adventurously appeared in Dancing On Ice, lasting a credible 5 weeks and more recently, participated in the Channel 5 series, 5 Celebs Go Camping, highlighting her versatility and enthusiasm, proving that age doesn’t define your capabilities.
In addition to TV, Cheryl’s theatre credits include Happy Days – The Musical, Footloose – The Musical, The Wizard of Oz, Beauty & The Beast and many pantos (oh yes she did!)
A real-life EastEnder, born in Bethnal Green, Cheryl will chat with Antonia on the highlights and challenges she has experienced in her profession, and share with us details of her charity work whilst balancing a career and family.
