SUMMARY:Insurance Artefacts: A Dedicated Museum for the City
DESCRIPTION:As tourism in the City of London and Square Mile increases\, the contrasting architecture is growing in attraction\, with many unaware of the history of insurance – covering ships and cargo to singers and concerts – conducted behind the doors of iconic offices. A dedicated museum for public interest to promote the heritage of this business allows us to enjoy history and culture – however obscure. With dedicated museums to insurance already open in Europe (Madrid\, Munich and Krakow)\, investigations are underway to explore the addition of London to the list. \nAt this market briefing\, Reg Brown\, former President of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Dr Adrian Leonard\, Associate Director of the Centre for Financial History at the University of Cambridge\, will highlight the importance of publically displaying insurance artefacts for the education and enjoyment of all. The origins of insurance – from the City coffee houses to the formation of Institutes – will be explored and there will be examples of artefacts on display. \nMore details can be found on the website of International Underwriting Association (IUA). \n \n\n \n Share this event with your colleagues:\n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Facebook\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Twitter\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n LinkedIn\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Email\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Visit Event Website
