SUMMARY:CPD educational visit to William Morris Gallery 2026
DESCRIPTION:CPD educational visit to William Morris Gallery 2026\n\n\n\n\nStep into the world of William Morris with a guided tour of the Gallery’s permanent collection. On this tour\, members will explore iconic designs\, textiles\, and stories that shaped the Arts and Crafts movement\, as well as a broad overview of their standard insurance arrangements\, including the difference between this and government indemnity insurance.  \nWilliam Morris Gallery is the only public gallery devoted to the designer\, craftsman and radical socialist William Morris. This Gallery is in a Grade II* listed building\, a Georgian house built in the 1740s and was William Morris’s family home from 1848 to 1856. In 2011-12\, architects Pringle Richards Sharratt designed a major redevelopment of the Gallery. The historic house was fully refurbished\, with new collection displays created on the ground and first floors. The top floor became a learning and research centre. \nJoin us for this tour to explore and discover the life\, work\, and legacy of William Morris and how the insurance works for a gallery like this. \nLearning objectives\n\nAn understanding of the legacy of William Morris\nAn understanding of this gallery and its permanent collection\nAn understanding of the commercial insurance and Government Indemnity Scheme used by this gallery\n\nAttendees are responsible for arranging their own travel arrangements.  \nPlaces on visits are limited and will be allocated on a first-come\, first-served basis.
