SUMMARY:Climate changes and natural catastrophe risk
DESCRIPTION:In this Insurance Institute of London (IIL) reinsurance lecture Craig Tillman will speak on climate change and how it is an important consideration in the management of natural catastrophe risk. The lecture will survey perils that are impacted by climate change\, now and in the future\, providing members with insight into how this might change risk management approaches. \nCraig will speak on current and future changes to catastrophe risk that are important to understand in the context of climate change. Global signals of the increasing pace of climate change are clear; how those signals translate into changes to catastrophe risk is nuanced on a region/peril basis. This lecture will survey present effects of global warming on a range of perils and discuss future changes that are expected to exacerbate the risk of natural catastrophes.
