DESCRIPTION:Audience \nThis programme is aimed at all market professionals with a minimum of two years’ experience in the market working within a claims\, underwriting or in-house legal role in a Lloyd’s managing agent\, broker or managing general agent. Experience with Canadian business is helpful but not mandatory.   \nProgramme details\nDate: 08 – 16 May 2018\nLocation: Toronto & Vancouver\, Canada\nFee: £3000 + VAT (excludes flights but includes accommodation and most meals) \nAbout the programme\nCanada is an important territory for Lloyd’s with policyholders insured and reinsured across a variation of business classes. This includes the delegated market which is prominent in Canada\, allowing Lloyd’s to utilise local Coverholders and TPAs which form an integral part of the supply chain and the Lloyd’s proposition. \nThe overseas educational programme in Canada has been designed to provide Lloyd’s market professionals in attendance with an in-depth view and access to a number of local experts to heighten the understanding of a key and growing territory\, including; \n-insight into the Canadian legal system focusing on key stages of the litigation process with involvement from attorneys and practising judges\, including court visits\n-presentations from TPAs and Coverholders\, covering delegation of authority and the management and oversight thereof\n-presentations on the Alberta wildfires: lessons learnt\, the use of satellite technology\, data analytics\n-engagement with Lloyd’s Canada\n-site visits to places of interest and significance not normally accessible to delegates including: \n	 • a shipyard in Vancouver\, assessing Marine operations\n 	 • a seaplane terminal including meetings with a local risk manager\n 	 • a ski resort in Whistler to assess the day to day operational and liability risks associated with running and managing the resort\n 	 • an overview of the Toronto transportation network\, visiting their command centre\n 	 • a nuclear plant\, including a guided tour with a risk manager showcasing the operation\, technology and related risks. \nThis programme and the related itinerary provides the opportunity for a significant level of practical learning whilst accessing sites\, experts and operations that provide experience and insight to varying risks and business classes that impact the Lloyd’s market\, providing first hand experience of business scenarios\, lessons learnt and risk management. \nDelegates will benefit from all of the practical learning and related experiences whether applicable to their current business class\, enhancing knowledge and relating to their day to day role and responsibilities\, both current and future.
