What happens when repaired machinery\, or hull\, fails again and\, how many times the underwriter – and which underwriter  – should indemnify for the loss?  \nThis market briefing will explore the practical tools to consider the definition of “separate accident” or if something is a “new intervening cause”. \nThe Speaker: \nAfter qualifying as a mechanical engineer from the Universities of Surrey and Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and serving onboard container vessels\, Stelios joined the newbuilding project management department of a shipping company\, dealing with contracts negotiations\, technical specifications and the plan approval. In addition\, he supervised the construction of 3 newbuilding containerships in S. Korea followed by 3 panamax and 7 post-panamax units. Stelios then joined The Swedish Club as staff surveyor and later as Technical and Marine Claims Manager\, surveying and handling on site\, on behalf of the insurers\, a variety of major marine casualties whilst sitting the exams of The Association of Average Adjusters achieving the Fellowship status in 2017. \nAs a member of the CPD (Continuing Personal or Professional Development) Certification Service the IUA is committed to providing high quality training activities.
